No-Bake Cheeseburger Cookies

Are they cheeseburgers or are they cookies? You’ll have to look closely to figure it out. Learn how to make them with our simple no-bake cheeseburger cookie tutorial.

So they gave me a new “job” at church. I’m the new Cubmaster and tonight was our first pack meeting. I feel very intimidated by this new job as I know NOTHING about scouts…I have a lot to learn. Tonight I was just in charge of the food, since I don’t know much about scouts I figured I’d focus on what I do “know” which is food.

With April fools coming up I thought these mini “burgers” would be a cute idea. I started with an idea on familyfun.com but didn’t want to bake the cookies…so here is how I did it..

How to Make Cheeseburger Cookies

Buns: Sandies cookies (that’s the name brand)

Meat : Keebler Fudge Cookies

Ketchup & Mustard: just tinted frosting applied with a pastry bag to make it go faster

Lettuce: flake coconut dyed green (bake it at 200 for 10-15 min to make the food color dry on the coconut).

How to Add Sesame Seeds to the Top

To get the sesame seed to stick, mix 1 egg beaten with 1 T of water, whisk. Use a pastry brush to brush the egg wash on the bun tops sprinkle with sesame seeds… bake at 300 until dry. (about 10 min)

Just assemble! (put in the fridge for a 1/2 hr afterward to get them to set up properly).

How to Make Cake “Fried”

I was thinking you could also make “fries”. Just buy a pound cake (a good firm pound cake) cut into shapes like fries. Put under the broiler a few seconds to brown on each side. Then wrap them up in wax paper like at restaurants. Serve with strawberry jelly in a fry sauce cup! (or you could do refrigerated breadsticks cut like fries and sprinkled with sugar)

  1. these. are. awesome. My husband and daughter LOVE burgers….it is simply a MUST do for April 1!!

THANK YOU for the idea! FAB-U-LESS!

  2. How adorable! I love the burgers! Have you seen mini smores made with Golden Grams, a minimarshmallow and a chocolate chip and melted over a candle? I have to agree that being the Cubmaster seems a bit intimidating at first. You’ll be great. Here’s a little advice from a former Cubmaster…. Don’t be afraid to act a little goofy. The boys will love you for it and it puts everyone else at ease.

  3. Seriously love this. My kiddos love pulling pranks and they are all under 8. These will be perfect off to the store for me.

PS you will love scouts! I was prego with #1 when I was called as weblos leader and thought “you are kidding me” but I truly loved it! oh and my first ended up being a girl… so I have to wait even longer to use what I learned with my boys 🙂

  4. very cute idea!

I have a random question for you that I’m really hoping you can answer! 🙂 I saw the patchwork diaper bag you made on your other blog from a charm pack back in November and LOVE the fabric. I have looked and looked online trying to find a charm pack that matches, but haven’t been successful so far. Do you happen to remember the name or designer of the fabric? I’d be ever so grateful if you have the information and would be willing to share! 🙂
    thanks so much!

  5. Thanks for the idea! I tried to do a simplified version of this today (no lettuce, mustard or ketchup), but one thing I added was sliced strawberries for tomatoes. They were yummy!

  6. Fun! My mom made these for my little bro’s 7th birthday, but she used nilla waffers and thin mints. 🙂 Personally I like your little bit bigger burgers better! haha!
