Pillow using Digital Scrapbook Files

I saw this awesome digital scrapbook kit on House of 3 and thought to myself:
“self, I wish I could put that on a pillow”

Then I realized I could! I just used printable fabric, some trim from my remnant box and some leftover fabric. I backed it in black velvet fabric.

Voila!  A little gratitude pillow just in time for Thanksgiving.

I’m happy with how it turned out and now have LOTS of other ideas, all those digital files hmmmmmmm……….

Leave a comment if you have questions.. if there is enough interest I might be talked into doing a tutorial.

I’m linking this to Today’s Creative blog,  Get your craft on Tuesdays, and A Soft place to Land… check them out lots of great ideas each Tuesday!

    Hey Melissa!

This was a timely post because my MIL wants to make Hayden a quilt with his picture on it for his baptism next month. I told her I would figure out how to do it. Can you just print a photograph on fabric paper as well? Is is washable? Do you have any hints? Where do I get fabric paper?

So cute! I make a pillow out of everything.
Here are two other tips (you might already know, but still….)-
I use regular fabric, adhere freezer paper to the backside of it (make sure you cut a 8.5×11 piece to fit your printer) and then it works the same as printable fabric paper. Also the possibliities are endless- all different types of fabric.
And the other thing- I design projects in PS & then print them on the freezer paper fabric and then embroider them. It’s SO much easier than transferring (various ways) and you can make the cutest designs and then just embroider them.

    So cool! Love the quote.

Albert Schweitzer was an incredible person – if you get a chance, pick up a bio of him somewhere. Worth learning about.

Oh yes! You should do a tutorial – I love this idea and would love to know how you did it. I’m such a word art junkie and the thought of putting poems, saying, etc on a pillow is so right up my alley! :)

Wow – I’ve used printable fabric for pictures, but never thought to use it for quotes and words….you’ve opened a whole new world to me! I’d be interested in a tutorial, especially since I’ve never made a pillow before!

Love it. I made tons of pillows this past summer to sell using this method. I am interested in trying the wax paper adhered to fabric and will tackle that once Halloween and soccer season are done this weekend.

I love the pillow! I am not sure though how to download the quote in order to print it on fabric. I would love some tutorial or even a quick “help” with that.
