Altered 7 Gypsies Printer Tray

So after all my blog hopping this week I think I'm the only one who has not caught the "New Years Organizing" bug.... and oh boy do I need to catch it... I think it's because in my head it's still not 2010 yet... oh well.. keep posting I need all the help I can get :-)

When you have crafty friends it's hard to think of things to get them for Holidays/Birthdays... As I've said before, I'm lucky to have lots of crafty friends around here. Most of them don't have craft blogs. They  inspire me every time I go into their homes... I'm sure they are sick of me asking a million questions about how they make things, and where they got an idea etc... I have a crafty sponge brain that delights in soaking up inspiration from anywhere I go... and like I said, I'm blessedly surrounded by creativity here.

I had a few less Christmas gifts to make this year, I'm not working with anyone at church (my job is Sunday School teacher now, so I don't really "work" with anyone), and I resolved not to worry about making a bunch of stuff for my in-laws, everything just got too stressful. Plus I've been trying to make things for my friends  birthdays instead ... The way I see it your birthday is YOUR day so you should get something from the heart... I digress... my point is,  I didn't make too many handmade gifts this year.

You all know my crafty friend Traci of Amazing Mae... I seriously fretted over what to make her for Christmas this year... I just kept getting stuck for ideas, I could not get past pincushions, bags or aprons... And I think I've already given that stuff before.

I decided to go another route... I got an empty 7 Gypsies tray in my Jenni Bowlin kit... I altered it and added some screw eyes to the bottom to attach a calendar garland...

*stole the photo from her blog, I of course forgot to take a photo*

Luckily I took some photos of her and her kids last year, so I could use them on the tray. Then I gave her a few extra sets of the Bingo Cards.. that way she can switch out the cards based on the season...

I think I found school, valentines, halloween and home Bingo cards for it.

In the end I didn't know if it was "weird" or cool...but I liked it.
