Raysha said...

I love the GUITAR boys rock and roll onesie. I see girlie stuff everywhere but I only have boys. I just love seeing adorable boy stuff!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!I NEED you to email me within 48 hours (you didn't leave your email address for me!!) otherwise I will have to pick another winner....
Thanks again to Brittany for hosting such a great giveaway!!! Visit her etsy shop and send her some  love :)

Second-Typing is INSANELY frustrating, and typing is an ESSENTIAL element of blogging :) ... I'm basically using one hand, and it's driving me crazy *wink*... I'm doing my best to get your questions answered ASAP, but for a couple more days, I might be a little slower answering my emails.. Just a few more days ...

Third:
For those of you who have bought or may buy the March Bag Pattern, when you print the patterns pieces from acrobat, make sure you have your printer set to print at 100% NOT "fit on page"... You want the pattern piece to print as close to the edge of your paper as it can. You will have margin around the edge where your printer can not print ... this is OKAY and the way it is supposed to be. The pattern is designed to fit on 4 standard 8 1/2 x 11 papers..

And PLEASE feel free to email me if you run into any problems or have any questions about it!!  When you buy the pattern you get ME with it, to help you out !! (well not in person but as much as I can over email!!)... I am VERY happy to answer questions, (I kinda like it actually!!) So don't be shy, ask away...

Dress Parade

After 2 boys my little sister just found out she is having a girl! She is due this summer and we are all estatic for her!!

She found out when my Dad was here babysitting while we were in France, so the night before he left I packed up "the Dresses" to send to her.  Most of my kids clothes I have given away, but I kept in my daughters closet certain ones that were "extra special". I never wanted to pack them away for fear that I would forget about them.

So that night I got them out of the closet and sent them off to Utah.  Before I did though, I snapped some photos of the ones that I had made over the years.

So indulge me a bit today, as I have a nostalgic "my kids are getting so big moment"... as I share some of the dresses I have made with you.

Just a note... I snapped these photos VERY late at night and did not have time to iron any of the dresses! Some of them look "wonky" because they are not on the hangers straight... sorry!

This one was actually a gift for my niece...

Easter Dress from a few years ago

Another Easter Dress

Yet another Easter dress, I can't believe how little she was!

She wore this one for my sisters wedding, so it seem appropriate that my sister gets it now. I hope the formula stains come out of it ok...

Just a fun summer dress. It's reversible, one of my favorite patterns, Lucy by Children's Corner

Easter again...

One of my favorites of all time...

I'm sooo excited to have a new baby niece this summer!!! Oh my she is going to be so fun to sew for!!

An unfortunate "incident" that occurred on a Friday afternoon

You will notice that there will be no Tuesday Tutorial this week...
You will also notice that this post will be one of fewer words than normal...

This is because one of my fingers in currently incapacitated....

You see, last Friday afternoon I was diligently trying to finish this weeks Tuesday Tutorial (I usually try to finish up my blog related stuff by Friday afternoon so I can just relax and spend time with my family over the weekend)...

the scene of the crime

As I was cutting the binding for this weeks project, the rotary cutter slipped, and I cut the side of the top of my left index finger...

there was panic,
there was blood,
there was crying,
and maybe some swearing (but  if you ask me about it, I won't admit to it)...

I will spare you the gory details, because yes, they are gory (lets just say it was a deep cut, I have  a partial fingernail, several stitches, and I nearly passed out when I saw my finger with a flap... okay that's enough details *wink*)...

So I can look forward to 2 weeks of stitches and a follow up with a hand specialist...other than looking a bit awkward, and trying to type with one hand,  I'm doing fine...

The doctor said no washing dishes for 2 weeks (darnit! *wink*)

Sooo..... this weeks tutorial has been postponed a week (oh, and it was a good one)... until I can get up the courage to touch my rotary blade again...(and get the blood out of the fabric... oh sorry, I told you I'd leave out the gory part).

in the meantime,

I think I'll scrapbook this week...

oh--- also, my dearest husband is not too fond of the idea me cutting fabric again, (it might have something to do with putting up with my hysterics while they sewed my finger back together and getting stuck with 2 weeks of dishes duty......)  does anyone know of any "saftey" device to prevent this from happening in the future?? When they started talking to me about hand surgery with a specialist, I realized this hobby is just a bit dangerous!

....don't forget you have until midnight Sunday to enter the Lisa Leonard giveaway!
