New bag pattern... here's a hint, are you ready for summer???

The weather here in Kentucky has started to turn towards Spring and I could not be happier.  My soul loves the warm weather.

On our first day where the thermostat hit above 60 degrees I started thinking summer...

Lazy days by the pool...

Outings with friends....

Maybe a fun Vacation?....

The smell of Sunscreen...

Do you need a tote to take to the Pool with you this summer?  I designed the July Bag just for that.

Last year I got many requests for a Summer bag... but never could settle on a good idea... Then after some conversations with friends and spending way too much time looking for bags online,  this idea came to me. I wanted to make a straw bag, but didn't know how.  The I realized... burlap!

Burlap is not the easiest to sew with but I did manage to figure out a trick to sewing with it (which I will share in the pattern). The burlap used in this bag is standard burlap from a big box sewing store, but you could make it out of upholstery grade burlap if you like... but I thought it looked great with the less expensive stuff. I love the contrast of the bright fabric with the neutral textural burlap.

The bag is fully lined with fabric and has 2 interior pockets (so you don't lose your phone). It's big enough to carry your beach towel, sunscreen and a couple of magazines.

There are also 2 exterior pockets for those items you need to grab quickly.

The July Bag Pattern is coming to my Pattern Shop, fourteen may.... on

MONDAY!!!!!

I've just got a few edits left on the pattern to do.....  I'll be sure to let you know when it's up in the shop (where you will be able to DOWNLOAD it yourself !!!)...

I was just so excited that I had to share it with you guys...

Very cute! Can I make a suggestion?? Can you put your blog reader back to full view?! I know it's maybe a big request but I love reading my blogs in my reader but your only show text and nothing else.

Yay! I can't wait. I own all your bag patterns so far, and I'll be waiting on Monday for this one! :) I made your June bag and everyone asks me where I got it. It's great.

Also, @Jenn - if you use Google Reader, go to settings (top right) -> reader settings -> goodies tab, and then scroll down and drag the word "next" into your bookmarks bar. Then just click on that to read the blogs from your reader on the actual blog page. It benefits everyone! :)
