Saturday Snapshots- Endless Summer?

I used to dream of an endless summer. Countless days spent by the pool, days uninterrupted by children’s schedules and a general sense of all around laziness.

Summer would come to an end every year and I would dread the inevitability of it.  During the cold dark days of February I would dream of our hot, humid sunshiny days of summer.

This year as summer was progressing this quote came to my mind frequently:

I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, To put to rout all that was not life and not when I had come to die Discover that I had not lived.”

Okay the morbid part aside, I decided this year to think of summer this way. To try to live and absorb all that it had to offer… So when it came to the end hopefully I would be ready for it to be over…
and guess what- I’m ready for it to be over!
I’m naturally a person that shuns schedules and hates being over committed, but right now I’m looking forward to the rhythm that a routine brings to our life.
We made the most of our summer this year:

We had:
babies and watermelon

lots and lots of time on boats
swimming pools

16th Birthdays

airplane rides

midnight movies

mountain streams

a not perfect, but still pretty darn good summer.

and that was enough.  Time to move on to fall.

I’ve enjoyed sharing with you these little “snapshots” of us this summer.  Maybe I’ll continue it on a monthly basis.. We’ll see- like I said I shun routines *wink*
