A quilt in progress

A couple of years ago we bought my daughter a new bed. Her old quilt didn’t fit anymore so I decided to make her a new quilt for her bed.— That was 2 years ago.

I knew I wanted to use Heather Bailey fabric, but other than that I didn’t have a plan.

Finally last month I started chopping up fabric.  I decided to go with 9″ tall rows with the fabric in random widths, and random prints.  The strips are from 4″ up to 16″ in length.

The quilt will be double size so I’ve got more planning to do, but I threw it up on my design wall last month and I think I’m happy with the plan.

You were going in the right direction when you picked HB! I love random blocks/strips too, so I am sure this quilt is going to be a winner all around :)

It is going to be adorable! Gotta love the Heather Bailey! I have been resisting buying a FQ pack of Fresh Cut all week – don’t know how much longer I can withstand the temptation!

    Have a great weekend!

Pretty! And you’re not alone – I’ve been meaning to make a quilt for my daughter for quite some time now. Every time I’m ready to start cutting fabric, she changes her mind on what she wants!

Hi I want to make a queen size quilt for my bed. I have my fat quarters all picked out. I need a pattern that uses big squares or rectangles. I want to use as much of the fat quarter as possible in big blocks. The fabric has beautiful larger prints in some of the fat quarters. Please send the response to my email. I would appreciate it.

    Thank you!
