Candy Corn Autumn Yarn Wreath

I finally gave in and jumped on the yarn wreath bandwagon.  I’ve seen dozens of them online this year and could not get the idea out of my head to make one.

I’ve been trying to build up my Fall decor (stuff not related to Halloween); I don’t like my house looking empty between Halloween and Christmas; Thanksgiving is too important of a holiday to forget about.

(Christmas Yarn Wreath)

I came up with the idea of using three colors of yarn to mimic the look of candy corn.  It was straightforward to make. If you are not familiar with making one, you pretty much wrap yarn around a styrofoam wreath form.

How to Make a Yarn Wreath

Supplies

  1. Styrofoam Wreath Form
  2. 2-3 Colors of Yarn (you can use a variety of textures for interest)
  3. Hot Glue
  4. Fall Embellishments

Construction

The construction steps are straightforward. Secure the end of the yarn with a pin and hot glue. Then begin wrapping the yarn around the wreath until you get back to where you started. Be careful as you go to keep all of the rows of yarn straight.

To decorate it, I kept it simple.  I added a few leaves cut off of a garland I had and a couple of pre-made flowers.  I just used stick pins to attach them to the wreath.
