Polka Dot Gift Wrap by 30 Days!

Hi Polka Dot Chair friends! I’m Mique from Thirty Handmade Days and the Queen Bee Market. I have known Melissa online from back in the dark ages and finally got to meet her face to face at SNAP! last year. It was a blast! Thanks for having me Melissa.

I have a love for polka dots and stripes so I found it a little challenging to focus on just one thing for this post. In the end, I went with gift wrap. I mainly used supplies I already had on hand to create this and hope you can find some unused craft supplies and go for it too!

My mother in law had a big birthday this past weekend and I wanted to dress up her package. It was the perfect excuse to bring out the 4 XL punch (yes it’s huge!! but I have and love this one too) and some other supplies that just sit and collect dust in my craft room. Am I the only one with a bunch of random stuff waiting to be used? Hope not. I also recently made this fun confetti gift wrap using the same idea but turned out with a different result. Fun huh?

Here’s what you need to create that cute package:

I purchased the craft, clear cello and tape at the dollar store. Way less expensive than cute wrapping paper because it will last for several packages. And it’s unique. Can’t go wrong with unique.

So first you wrap your package with kraft paper:

Cut out clear cellophane to fit your package. Make sure that it’s a pretty tight fit. Because it’s cellophane, you can see everything and if you have a lot of excess, it will show.
Then lay punched out polka dots on top of the cello:

Set your kraft wrapped package on top of the cellophane and lay more dots on the back of the package.
Move the dots around to your liking, wrap the cellophane and secure with tape.

Tie with twine, ribbon or whatever you have on hand.
Attach with a 30days printable tag. I have three different options for you to choose from!
And voila! You have a cute polka dotted package.

I hope you’ll stop by and say hi!

Thank you so much Mique!  I love your idea, it’s such a fun and unique way to give a gift……

I “met” Mique several years ago when we were both somewhat new to blogging… we emailed back and forth for a long time and I’ve been honored to have been featured in her Funner in the Summer series for 3 summers in a row now.  Like she said we finally met last year at SNAP!  I adore Mique- she’s another wonderful and inspiring person that I’ve been able to meet through blogging.
