Add embroidery detail to fabric with HGTV Home
The good folks at Joann’s Fabric and Crafts tasked me with a challenge. One that I was happy to accept!
They sent me a package with 2 yards of the new HGTV Home line of fabrics and a copy of HGTV magazine.
The Task: Create Something!
Let’s talk Kitchens
Let’s talk Kitchens. Specifically Kitchen Updates. Do you love yours? I will shamelessly admit to coveting the Barefoot Contessa’s Kitchen. Come on you’ve got to admit it’s gorgeous!

It’s gorgeous, light and bright. White cabinets, dark countertops and green wallpaper backsplash.
We moved into the house we are in 5 years ago. Every house we’ve lived in I’ve wanted white painted cabinets. So far it’s not working out.

Pink & White Girls Bedroom
We have been in our home long enough that it seems like it’s time to go through and do some “tweaking” to a lot of the rooms. This pink girls bedroom was one of those rooms.
It’s my daughters bedroom. When we moved in we installed what I call “wedding cake” chair rail and crown molding. Then painted her room light and dark pink. She loved it. Now that she’s a bit older it seemed time to transition her room for a slightly older girl. (You can see photos of her room before here).
Plate Wall Display Idea
Last Spring we repainted our Dining Room. You can see the before and after pictures here.
Since then I’ve been slowly working on a few other projects in there. One of them was to install a plate wall.
We have a VERY narrow hallway in between our kitchen and Dining Room, on one side we have a butlers pantry and on the other side was a big blank wall.
