DIY Glitter House, “A Grateful Home”
For the last few years at Christmas time I’ve wanted to make a glitter house village. Rhonna made some a few years ago that I LOVE! I bought the house with that intention. Then decided to take a little pressure off of myself at Christmas and make one for Thanksgiving instead. A Grateful Home.

Candy Corn Autumn Yarn Wreath
I finally gave in and jumped on then yarn wreath band wagon. I’ve seen dozens of them online this year and could not get the idea out of my head to make one.
I’ve been trying to build up my Fall decor (stuff not related to Halloween), I don’t like my house looking empty between Halloween and Christmas, Thanksgiving is too important of a holiday to forget about.
Reverse Stencil Wood Sign Tutorial
When I attended SNAP conference in April, I learned a fun new technique for reverse stenciling from the girls at Poppyseed Projects.
Using this technique I made a fun little Halloween sign using some scrap wood and a stencil cut with my Silhouette machine.
When you reverse stencil you start by painting your board the color you want your words to be, then use your vinyl as a stencil. It doesn’t matter what color your vinyl is because you’re going to rip it off at the end.
Scrappy Halloween Table Runner
This month I’ve been working on some quilted Halloween pillows. I started collecting a variety of Halloween themed fabrics and have had fun designing some pillows with all of the different fabrics.
The pillows are not quite done yet (need to get on that, Halloween is next week), but as I was looking at the pile of scraps on my sewing table I thought they were all too good to waste. If I threw them in my scrap bucket who knows what would become of them!
Blingy Autumn Wreath

In our family we love to find ways to celebrate the seasons. The kids all get so excited when it’s time to pull out our decorations for a special time of year. This year I decided to make a new wreath for our front door to anticipate the arrival of Autumn this year.
I was inspired by the feathers that my daughters and all of their friends have in their hair right now! To make it fun I threw in a little bit of bling too, because it never hurts to have a little bling! *wink*
First you need to gather your supplies. All of these can be found at most craft stores.
You will need:
18″ wire wreath form
4-5 stems of a filler material, such as a grass, or leaves- just a note, you can do this project with LIVE branches, if you’ve got some left over from a garden pruning project.
4-5 stems of an accent material- I used some pepper berry stems
Large Focal Point flower
10-15 long feathers
Old brooch or glitter button
Hot Glue Gun
Floral Wire
Wire Cutters
When you buy stems at the craft store of florals, most are multiple stems all taped together and sold as one. For this project, you are going to want to start taking stuff apart!
The grass stems came apart into several smaller stems. So I pulled them apart. Do the same thing with the pepper berries, but you may need to use wire cutters to cut those apart.
Next you are going to start making small bunches with all of your materials. Here I’ve taken one grass stem, one pepper berry sprig and one feather and wired them all together along the bottom. Use you wire cutters to clip off any extra wire at the bottom of your bunch.
Now use your floral wire an attach the bottom of the stem to your wreath form. Repeat.
Keep attaching bunches, overlapping each piece slightly, until your wreath is filled up. (the number you need will depend on how full the materials are you chose to work with)
Once you’ve got all of your bunches wired on, flip your wreath over. Generously use your hot glue gun and glue over the top of where the floral wire is attached to the form. This will keep your wreath from moving around.
Flip over your wreath and look at it- If you like, add some more feathers or grass stems until it’s the fullness that you are happy with.
Next you are going to take apart your focal flower. Just tug on it, it will come apart!! Don’t worry we’ll put it back together again. If you don’t want to use a sparkly brooch for the center of your flower, you can skip this part.
Now just reassemble your flower in a way that you like! I used some leaves from the stem and glued them to the back. Just use hot glue to reassemble the flower. I just pinned the brooch onto the reassembled flower.
The only thing left to do is to hot glue the flower to your wreath and hang it on your door! Oh- if you don’t want to keep the brooch on your wreath don’t stress, you can just take it off when you are done with it and use it for something else

The weather here never ceases to amaze me. This time last week, my daughters field hockey game was cancelled due to excessive heat… Then within a couple of days it started raining and we’ve had high’s in the 60′s all week! Near 100 to 60 in one week- crazy!!
With the cooler weather has come the inescapable need to bake something!! I seriously tried to resist, but that can of pumpkin in the pantry was calling my name.
