Preserve your Family Recipes
Today while looking a book I remembered a project I did for my Mom a couple of years ago…I thought someone might like the idea so I dug up the photos to share. I can’t believe I forgot about this, since it is one of my favorite projects I’ve ever done.
I come from a long line of fabulous cooks. My mom, her mom and her aunt (I’m sure it goes even further back than that.) After my Grandma passed away, my Mom got all of her hand written recipe cards. I was visiting a few years ago and noticed them all stuck in a box. I thought that they should be put somewhere safe. I knew that Mom still wanted to use the recipes.

Around the house… Closet Organizing Idea
2 weekends ago I told my teenage daughter to clean out her closet. She made her “attempt” but it was still a disaster…So I went in an took EVERYTHING out of her closet… and I mean everything and threw it on a pile on her floor (such a good Mom huh?!?)…oh the things that were in there… gross!!!!!!!!!!!
Jewelry storage idea
For years my jewelry has been a mess. I love necklaces… 90% of them are just costume. They would get tangled, and lost and I could never tell what I had. So when we moved I decided to put them up on the wall. My husband wasn’t 100% thrilled with the idea, he thought it might look sloppy.. but I don’t think it does.
I got some nice looking hooks (at the Pottery Barn outlet, but I have seen nice ones at Target & lowes). Then I just hung all the necklaces on them… Mostly by color, but it doesn’t always stay organized. 
And I love it… It’s so easy to pick out what necklace to wear when I can “see” them all. For effect I put all my pearls (they are all fakes) on the dressform my Mom got me… I love it – I think it looks very “french”. I still keep the “nice” stuff in the jewelry box.
