Summertime Inspiration

I like to think of creativity as a sponge. You soak up inspiration for a while then at some point you squeeze the sponge and good stuff starts coming out (or at least you hope).

This summer I’ve been doing a lot of the “soaking up” part. Lots of ideas trickling around in my head just waiting for the right moment to start oozing out as new projects.   Hopefully I’ve managed to soak up enough to get me though the winter (oh I despise winter, I don’t even want to think about it).

While my parents were here we took a trip down to Glendale, Kentucky.  It’s just the kind of place that says “summer” to me.

A beautiful little slice of Americana in the heart of Kentucky.

While there we shopped and ate at the Whistle Stop Cafe, which has been round since ’75 serving Fried Green Tomatoes (I don’t know if there is a connection to the movie).

It was sinfully delicious, it deserves an “adventures in eating” post all to itself.

I hope something you see inspires you too!
