Travelers Journal Ideas and Tips
Ever since Christmas I’ve been scrapbooking like MAD! More than I have in a few years! I don’t always understand the ebbs and flows of creativity but I think it has something to do with the fact that I sewed NON STOP for the entire month of December… I think I just need a “break” from my sewing machine to work on something else, and scrapbooking fit the bill.
I’ve discovered divided page protectors. Some of them are Project Life dividers and some are Doodlebug…. I know that the Project Life dividers were designed for “day to day” scrapbooking but they have been invaluable for me for scrapbooking some past vacations.
I’ve had a stack of photos sitting around for a couple of years from our trip to Paris…. Now they are finally in a book.
I used the photos I printed at Costco (to save $) and combined them with some printed at home and memorabilia to create the pages.
They are held together now with just a binder ring (to keep them in order) but will get moved into an album when I find one I like.
I used 6″x12″ page protectors for my journaling. Luckily I blogged the trip at the time, so all I had to do was cut and paste from my blog.
I used the Spring Circus and a few other kits from Rhonna Designs for the backgrounds, then just added text on the top and printed them out at home.
Since I printed a few photos at home, I added some text on top in Photoshop to divide the pages into sections.
Many of our ticket stubs and museum receipts fit in this protector… I cut up a map (but kept it in the same order) to use as the backgrounds for the ticket stubs.
The back of the page above- the subway map showing.
Another 6″x12″ page protector that fit most of our other memorabilia.
I’ve got a couple more albums to share! Those page protectors have really speed up the whole process. I think I’ll go back and make a couple of 12×12 traditional pages later, just to mix in with the others.
