A finished Zig Zag quilt top
I like many others have been infatuated with zig zag quilts that are popping up everywhere. I got my original inspiration for this quilt from Allison at Cluck Cluck Sew.
It’s a lap quilt size. I think I’ll back it with flannel to make it soft.
To simplify the construction I used Moda 10″ precuts for both the white pieces and the Tula Pink pieces.
I just made quilt half square triangles then arranged them in a zig zag pattern in rows of color.
I’m thinking about adding a border using my left over 10″ squares— suggestions??
Just beautiful. I adore zig-zag quilts and yours is gorgeous. Great fabric choices!
Maybe you could make the border scrappy and intersperse white with the prints for the border?
It’s beautiful! I’ve made a zigzag before. I love that it’s so quick but adorable and rewarding. I really love your fabric choice. I have some Tula Pink charm squares that I’ve been hoarding and now I think I know what to do with them!!
I love it! I think a border with the rest of the layer cake would be great because it would frame in those large zigzags.
I’d do a simple single color border, and save the extras for a matching pillow. 🙂
I’ve just finished a zig-zag following Jeni’s (In color order) tutorial for the Moda bakeshop. No borders but a scrappy bias using leftovers…
I love the colors! I love the zig zag quilts too. I don’t know that I’d add a border. But if I did, I’m thinking I would first add a border of white, then a scrappy border maybe. It’s so hard to suggest without being able to lay it all out and look at it first. I’m sure you know what I mean.
Great fabric choices! I made a zigzag last year, just got it quilted this week and already can’t wait to make another!
I love this! It is so fun! I think a border with the rest of the fabric would frame it up perfectly! Can’t wait to see it all finished!
