The past few years I’ve participated in Ali Edwards 25 Days of December Project. You can read all about it here on her blog.

This year I decided to something a little bit different with my album.  In the past I’ve stuck with a more vintagey Christmassy look.. You can see my past albums here and here and here.

I wanted a bit of a change, something brighter and fun.  So I destroyed a poor neglected Christmas Book *wink*

Actually, we have a Half Price Books in our city, I can always find treasures there. I picked up this copy of Olive the other Reindeer for about $5.  For that price I decided it was okay to “rearrange it” .

I started by cutting off the spine carefully with an exacto knife.  After that I used some washi tape to cover the raw edge on the front and back covers of the book.

This made up the front and back of my album.  Now I just needed to make the inside pages.

I cut  scrapbooking paper to size. All of it was double sided.  Then punched holes in it and interspersed it with some other elements.

A few of the pages I left 12″ wide and folded over the extra.

This gave me a nice flap and some more room for photos and journaling once I get going.

Since the illustrations in the book were so beautiful, I used several of the pages from the book as base pages for my album.

I could not resist using the “THE END” page from the book as the last page in my album.

I’ve got a bunch of supplies gathered in a ziploc bag to complete the album.  My goal is to get a few photos each day and sit down once a week to work on the album.

I’ll be sure to share photos of the finished album with you!  Is anyone else out there joining in on the 25 Days of December Challenge?? I’d love to see your pages!
