Print your design onto the printable fabric according to the manufacturers instructions. Most manufacturers require that you heat set your design after it is printed.
To add some texture to my pillow, I added some hand embroidery to the honey combs and some heat set rhinestones.
Trim your fabric to size (in this case 8×8) and sew 2, 2″x8″ strips of fabric to the top and bottom of your fabric piece.
Stitch 2 additional strips of fabric each 12″ x 2″ to 2 remaining sides of pillow.
Stitch lace to front of pillow on top of the seam.
Stitch cording to front of pillow along the outer edge. Overlap cording at corner.
Place pillow back (cut to 12″ x 12″) on top of pillow front, right sides together. Stitch along the line you just made to attach the cording. Leave a 8″ opening.
Turn the pillow right side out. Stuff pillow form into pillow and hand stitch opening closed.

Cute, cute pillow! I feel that you are right…for best results you must use a pretreated fabric. Your digital design is fun and the added texture of embroidery is perfect!
