Instructions
In a large cast iron pot brown2 large onions, in 1 T butter or oil
add 4 lb hamburger, garlic salt and pepper (you can use 2lb Ground Turkey & 2lb Ground Beef if you like, it tastes the same and cuts down on the fat), cook, until browned.
add3 cans kidney beans18oz of ketchup2T vinegar3-4 T chili powder1 large can of tomato juice
stir and remove from heatcook covered in an oven-safe pot for 5 hours at 275.
Notes
Check the pot every 1-2 hrs. If it seems like it's getting too dry add more tomato juice, chicken broth or water. You don't want it to dry out.
