Printable Fabric Halloween Banner
Last month I shared this project over at Rhonna Designs. Today I’m going to share with you how to make it.
I’ve got a BUNCH of Halloween banners (really more than I need). So I decided to do something different with this one and make it out of fabric and embellish it with some of our past Halloween photos.

| I don’t want to talk about the tv above the mantel. Let’s just say I lost an argument 🙂 |
Did you know you can print on fabric? It’s super easy, but not waterproof, so don’t print anything you think you’d ever need to wash.
Here’s what you need to make the banner.
Printable Spooky Junque PDF (**hint, if you sign up for Rhonnas newsletter, she frequently sends coupons). Since the file is a PDF all you do is download and print, you don’t need ANY other program.
Wonder Under
Canvas
Pinking Shears
Muslin cut to 8.5×11
Ribbon
Sewing machine
Fusible Photo Fabric paper (I used June Tailor brand)
iron
Iron wonder under to the back of each of your 8.5″x11″ muslin pieces. After you download your file, print it out on the wonder under backed muslin (you will print on the muslin side). I just used normal print settings and mine worked fine.
Cut out each banner piece. Also cut out some of the smaller embellishments on the PDF to use to decorate your banner.
Print some of your favorite halloween photos onto fusible photo fabric (you get a better image when you print on fabric made just for photos on fabric, The muslin is cheaper and works fine for the banner pieces, but I like to use the fabric paper for photos)
Peel paper backing off of banner pieces and press onto canvas, leaving 1/2″ seam all around.
Trim around banner pieces with pinking shears leaving 1/2″ of canvas showing.
For some extra detail sew around the edges of the banner pieces. Embellish if desired with extra ribbon and buttons.
Cut slits in the banner, string through ribbon.

Love this!! Thank you for sharing! Happy Thursday! =)
What a great way to incorporate two of my loves…fabric and photos. Great idea!
OH I SO AM IN LOVE WITH THIS!! AMAZING!!!!!
Thanks for sharing!

i swear it–some people can make even dirt look good–you are one of those people! Your creativity knows no bounds!! Love this banner!
Maybe you can sew a “Dust cover to Protect” the tv! Ok, I’ll butt out.
Cute project. You find the neatest things and make them so special! Cute, Cute, Cute!
Have you heard of the stuff that makes your printed fabric permanent? I ran to the sewing room…it’s called Bubble Jet and there are two parts, Set and Rinse. One is used on the fabric before you print and the other after. Google it. There are even home made recipes…but I have not used them.
Of course, many people just don’t want to mess with chemicals.
I used Buble Jet Set and Rinse to print pics of me and my 3 sisters for a quilt for my oldest sister. She hasn’t finished hand quilting it, so it’s not been washed yet.
I’m sure I’ll see on your blog if you experiment with it.
I saw this up close today. It really is so cute. I just have to find more rooms for more banners because there really is no such thing as too many.
