Thanksgiving, Decor & checking things off....

Don't forget to enter the Lu Bird Baby Giveaway! You have until Wed, at midnight!!

We had some friends come stay with us last weekend... it was a great excuse to get some little projects done around the house... Not to mention the fact that it was 1 week until Thanksgiving and I still had not finished putting up the decorations....

I can only do ONE Holiday at a time... (this makes for crazy Christmas seasons for me, because I really should start earlier since I always think I can get more done than I do.)
So a few days after Halloween, I pulled out the Thanksgiving decorations. Then they sat for a few days (um...weeks) Here's my entry way/dining room... I always try to decorate this table for the seasons...

Fireplace Mantle... still working out a "wow" fall mantle, maybe next year.

my pilgrims, that I love.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, I was all ready to post photos of my table settings from last year (we had over 30 people!)... but I guess I was too busy cooking that I didn't take very many photos!  Here's are a couple..

This is the kids table, I had to search HI and LOW for vinyl Thanksgiving placemats for them...

The centerpiece... It came out "okay" pretty much you take a pumpkin then turn it into a little "Fruit appetizer" by putting skewers in him... The kids thought it was pretty cool.

Next on the list was the guest bathroom and basement. We finished the basement last year and I am slowly getting it pulled together.

Got my latest painting hung up... still needs a frame.. oh and that lamp has to go

We have this HUGE long wall in the basement across from the Kitchen area, I had always wanted to make it a bit of a "rotating" art gallery (I'm going to add some clips so the kids can put there art up there too).... I finally got some paintings hung.. Don't laugh, but most of those have been done for a year and sitting on the floor.. I don't know why I have such a hard time hanging my own art... I pulled out a couple of my husband's paintings from college too..

Guest Bath.. got this cabinet hung up.. it's a "redo".. I'll post more details bout it next week...

More art hung up.. this time the paintings I bought at the St. James Art Fair

It felt good to cross some things off the list!  But there is still a HUGE list... it's never ending, oh well.. I kinda like it that way.

I hear ya on the long list of "to do's). I got a huge part of my list done last week-end, but very shortly after I patted myself on the back and did the "I rock like a rock star" dance. I realized that the list doubled again and the new stuff created old stuff that needed to be dealt with. That doesn't even make sense in writing, but I got a feeling you understand all too well. Great job on wittling you list down!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just recently discovered your blog and have so enjoyed reading all your posts! The artwork is amazing!

I love the fixture above your dining table. I've been looking for something similar. Do you mind me asking where you found it? I haven't had much luck in my search.
Thanks so much!

I really like your chandelier. I think the paint color helps on the 1st harvest picture. The turkey is adorable!
