So am I a day late and a dollar short??  You know I have great intentions of getting photos of stuff taken then posted, then it doesn’t happen…
oh— if I could only follow through with all of my intentions… but such is life.

So here is one big ‘ole Christmas wrap up post!  If you aren’t too sick of looking at photos of tinsel, ornaments & greenery take a gander.

I made a new garland for my fireplace this year… I know I promised a tutorial… well I’ve got a similar idea for Valentines, so watch for a tutorial soon!

fireplace mantle, still working on the “wow” factor… I’ve got a few ideas for next year
my ornament wreath that Kathryn helped me make!
close up of a garland around my dining room chandelier
my candy table…still need a “wow” here too.. got a few ideas for next year
remember the spiders at Halloween?? Well for Christmas I hung giant candy ornaments above the bar in my kitchen.
THANK you to everyone that emailed me with ideas for neighbor gifts. Actually this year I was suffering from “idea overload” and could not commit to just one idea…. In the end, I went with an old standby, peppermint bark (I can post the recipe if you like).
I boxed it up, then to make a tag did the easiest thing ever! I just took a packing tag (from Office store) then covered the back only with pattern paper.(stole this idea from my Mom).  Then stamped the non covered side.  Easy Peasy… Took these around to the neighbors, including one that moved in only 2 weeks ago .. they were so excited, I’m glad I decided to add them to “the list” last second.
oh… this kept us really busy… Let’s just say I’m not the only crafty one in the family :-)… Hubby built this for our daughter.  It took along time!!!! A lot of time that he could not be helping with the cleaning/child care etc… Thus… keeping us ALL really busy… but in the end it was totally worth it…
I mean look at her face when she saw it!!  It came from Dad, not Santa… Dad still has to finish the interior, but she can help him “decorate”.
I managed to make a few crafty things done too.. they each got a lap quilt.. Here is Andrew’s. Super super simple pattern. I’ll post more info on these later. (they are backed with minke…super duper soft)
For the “specials” teachers (i.e. music, art etc).. I got these clipboards at Archivers for $1 then covered them with scrapbook paper and buttons, then clipped on a movie gift card on it.
The teacher gifts… (love the mess in the background?). Just a tin board and vinyl lettering. Then I attached some magnets to the back of some buttons, gems, & oversize paper clips.
Whew!! Now just to finish my 25 days of December album.. then I can check Christmas 2009 off my “list”..
Oh- one last tip? Do you have Holiday crafts that you don’t finish??? I always do. I started putting the unfinished crafts in one bin in my craft room.  I’ve got stuff 1/2 way done for 4th of July & Halloween already… that way I don’t forget about it.
