Saturday Snapshots

Summer has arrived with full force here in Kentucky. The cold rainy days of May have been replaced with the hot and humid days of June.  With the heat comes the desire to move at a slower pace, sip lemonade on the porch and spend days out by the pool.

This is summer in the South…. hot sunny days followed by humid nights. You walk outside and can feel the damp in the air.  The kids nightly count the number of fireflies they  catch and I have to admit there is something magical about the twinkling light show they put on at night.

It’s usually not this hot in June, but our unseasonably wet and cold spring has led to an unseasonably hot early summer.

We are still getting used to our summer routine here. Not too many lazy days so far… they have been peppered with Weddings, Dance recitals, 6 am sports practices and neighborhood kids.   I’m still diligently crafting away in my little room in the basement, but at a slower pace.  My head continues to spin with ideas, but not feeling to much fire have them all done right away.

I thought it would be fun this summer, in addition to my regular crafty content, to give you a glimpse into my summer.  I’m going to start sharing “Saturday Snapshots” with you… just a hodge podge of photos of what’s going on… some are taken with my fancy camera, some snapped quick with my iPhone and a few that I’ve been playing with in Instagram…

So here goes….  Hope you have a fantastic weekend… see you next week – I’ll have a few things to share.

Summer seems to be giving us a miss here in the UK at the moment.

  2. I love glimpses into your life. 🙂 I have only seen fireflies when I lived in Texas. I don’t care how old you are, they are magical. I hope someday I can share that with my kids.
