Saturday Snapshots

car

Ahhh… see something missing?

That adorable 17 yr old from last weeks Saturday Snapshots managed to knock it off while driving.   You see they never really stop destroying stuff.  When she was 5 she was carving her name into the linoleum with a ball point pen… now she’s knocking side view mirrors off of cars.   You’d think I’d be used to it by now.  In case you’re wondering, yes she has to pay to fix it herself.  At minimum wage the car should have a new side view mirror sometime in the next century.

Although I guess I should not be too hard on her as I did almost the same thing to our then brand new car.  But I didn’t knock the mirror clean off, just broke it loose.  I drove around with it duct taped to the car for a few months… classy I know.

After I committed to this new blog series last week I woke up the next day and thought “well now what am I supposed to take photos of?” I’ve REALLY gotten out of the habit of taking photos of my family.  The above photo is just an everyday shot.  The light was really good in our living room yesterday so I snapped a few shots of my son before he headed off to scouts.

The weather warmed to a balmy 50 degrees after a snow day this week.  Time to bust out the Dorothy shoes.  As much as I love my boots, I’m a bit sick of them. Time to move onto flats and flip flops (digi images Rhonna Designs). I said I’d take photos of people — my shoes count right???

Zebra_Fabric

I could not resist taking at least one photo of some fabric.  Since our trip to Africa last summer we’ve all become a bit obsessed with the animals.  We watch Animal Planet & Discovery all the time now. Last month we discovered Austin Stevens Adventures.  That guy is CRAZY!  Last week he went down a hole looking for a python… eeeeewwwwwwww……  Anyway, I saw this print and ordered it.   When it showed up my daughter claimed it for a pillow for her dorm room.

Other Random tidbits this week:

I’ve been obsessing over plane ticket prices this week. Delta lower your fares already!

I turn 40 this year and told my husband I should celebrate that day in Paris.  He told me I was dreaming.  Bubble Burst.  I’ll have to visit in my dreams instead I guess (this may or may not be related to the first item on the list)

I absolutely ADORE this quote that Rhonna posted on her blog this week.   All about creating and sharing.

I read this post by Lindsay and am off to hunt down what she says is the best fabric marking pen.

I’m crushing on this skirt at Shabby Apple- they are having a 50% off sale, buy any Ferris Wheel item get one of these items 50% off….

I’m reading this book by Heather Ross .  She has an entire chapter on fabric design.
I’ve got an idea for a blog project that requires fabric from Spoonflower,  I’ll let you know how it turns out, I’ve never ordered from them before.. any tips?

Love this photoshop tip that Ashleigh shared on her blog .

Happy Weekend Y’All!   Next week we’ve got a giveway WOOT! and 2 amazing guest bloggers.
