I love this idea! I think it would be fun for my boys to do :) they love the drill! I’m going to pass this on to my sis who does a handmade christmas gift exchange with her family!
Thanks Anna :D
Love this Anna! There are so many ways you could personalize this. You’re full of great ideas!
I like that! Thanks Anna!
Simple and sophisticated! Another fabulous Anna idea.
Super cool I love this I definitely need to try it out. It’ll push my drill use boundaries though but that’s probably good for me ;)
What a simple to do project yet you made it sooooo awesome! I love the stain color that you used! Fantabulous!!!
thanks for having me Melissa, it was fun! :)
Man! Those are really cute. Good tutorial. I’m gonna put you on my blog list.
Very lovely! My hubby and I made a bazillion of these about 10 years ago to give as gifts. They went over like hotcakes! Another nice touch is to glue a piece of felt on the bottom (same size as the bottom) – creates a nice “finishing touch” as well as being a scratch-preventer.
Love your blog! Thanks for all your great ideas, and guest posts :-)
This is a great idea that’s easy too! Is there any issue with the candles burning down low and causing a fire hazard with the surrounding wood holder? I love that it’s modern looking.
Very cool Anna! You’re so industrious
This is wonderful idea..thanks for this amazing tutorial..
Hugs,
Mirja from Finland
great idea, thanks … i’m going to make some for christmas with the tablerunners i’m giving as gifts …
on the *burning to the wood* thought: i saw on a blog a few days ago (no, can’t remember which one) that if you lined the bottom with foil or added foil to the bottom of the tea light, it will be ok, no burning to the wood …. just a thought!
looks just like ikea! lovely wedding idea as well
This is simpler than I thought it would be. I love projects like that. They look impressive but don’t take too much. Nice job Anna. You have an amazing creative brain.
Just thought I would add on the burning wood idea that if you use the tea lights that are in the little plastic containers it probably wouldn’t be a problem with them burning to low and being a fire hazard. I let mine burn down to nothing all the time and they just go out on their own.
Ugh… I’m so in love with this idea!! It’s so clean and modern. I think I’m obsessed… So now I just need to make them! :D
What a simple and beautiful idea! I’m definitely going to have to make a couple of these to give as gifts. They’d really work for any occasion, but I’m thinking my Dad would love one for Father’s Day!
I’d love to link to your project from my site, if that’s okay with you. You can check it out here:

We are having a difficult time finding replacement tealights for our finished product. It seems maybe they have changed the size? Where did you get yours?
