Bluegrass Charm Fabric Collection & Quilt Patterns
The Bluegrass Charm Fabric collection, designed by Melissa Mortenson for Riley Blake Designs, is a cottage floral-inspired quilting cotton fabric line inspired by the bluegrass region of Kentucky.

I’m “sew” excited today to be able to introduce you to my newest fabric collection with Riley Blake Designs, Bluegrass Charm!
About the Collection
Living in the Bluegrass region, surrounded by thoroughbred farms and southern hospitality, I found inspiration for my new fabric collection, Bluegrass Charm.
Each print is inspired by some of the things I love most about living in Kentucky—our rolling hills of Kentucky bluegrass (which is actually green, not blue), the quaint small towns and farms full of historic architecture, and our gardens, which bloom with lilies, peonies, and hydrangeas.
I hope this collection inspires quilters to capture the essence of Kentucky’s natural beauty & charm in every project.
The Fabric Prints in the Collection
The collection features 21 different prints. Seven unique designs in three colorways. You can see a close-up of some of the prints below.
Quilt Patterns for Bluegrass Charm Fabric
I’ve designed three new quilt patterns JUST for this collection! You can find all of them in the shop.
One: Bluegrass Pastures Quilt Pattern
The Bluegrass Pastures Quilt pattern is a charming equestrian-inspired quilt design that features appliqued horses and fences, which can be traditionally or foundation paper-pieced.
Bluegrass Crossing Quilt Pattern
The Bluegrass Crossing Quilt pattern is a vintage-inspired, traditionally pieced patchwork quilt pattern featuring Goose Tracks and Nine-Patch quilt blocks. It is fat-quarter friendly.
Bluegrass Sampler Quilt Pattern
The Bluegrass Sampler quilt pattern is a sampler-style quilt pattern featuring barn quilt blocks, prize ribbon blocks, horses, and horseshoes. It is traditionally pieced with a few raw-edge appliqué elements.
