Next up in our Summer Sewing series is Marissa of Rae Gun Ramblings sharing a tutorial teaching you how to sew a Vinyl Wet Bag.
Well, our kids started school today, I guess that means that summer is now “unofficially” over. In my opinion it’s not officially over until after Labor Day, but the next two weeks are so full of school commitments and team practices that it might as well be September. What happened to the good old days when school started AFTER Labor Day?
Last weekend we arrived home from a trip to the Netherlands and Norway. It was a multi generational trip, with my parents, and kids in attendance. (You can see some of the photos of our trip on Instagram). We had a great time and I’m very excited to share with you some of the details (and a few tips we picked up along the way) but for now I’ll have to wait a bit. We went on a cruise for the portion of our trip in Norway and I caught a bug onboard (yep, I’m now apparently one of “those” people who got sick on a cruise ship). Luckily it wasn’t’ until the last day, but it’s left me with the WORST case of vertigo. It’s seriously killing me to sit and try to type and look at a computer screen right now. My stomach is doing flip flops and I feel like the room is spinning. I’m also quite sure that this post is full of typos and grammatical errors, but the screen is moving around so much I can’t really tell!!
Luckily I’ve got Marissa of Rae Gun Ramblings pitch hitting for me today. She’s sharing a free tutorial to make these vinyl wet bags on her blog today.
These little bags are so practical and can help keep your pool bag organized (and hopefully stink free) during these final weeks of summer.

Hello Melissa,
Sorry,No cure for vertigo, I also have it and the only thing I( you) can do is laying in bed until it is over. With me it sometimes takes a week or 2 before it is gone. You can try with Betahystine, but you have to ask the doctor for a subscription. My husband also has it , but he has Ménière’s disease, and he has real benifits of Betahystine. But vertigo is no bug but I have difficultys to explain it in English, I’m from Belgium(next to the Netherlands)and speak also Dutch, so I’m not used to write english. Ofcourse you can find it on the web(Wikipedia), what I know is : no cure for veritgo. It can take a long time for the next attack(even years) but it won’t go away. In fact when I have an attack I cann’t do anyting on the computer, not watching TV, no reading or anything than laying still with closed eyes , in bed. The best thing you can do is go to a specialsit (otorhinolaryngologist)and find out what kind of vertigo you have, I myself have Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), when I bend over I can have an attack.
Thanks for your great newsletters and free patterns. Kindly regards, Cristel (from Belgium)
My chiropractor cured my vertigo. Yoga exercises also help, since it is in Your ears and affects balance.
First thanks SO much for having me and second I had some terrible positional vertigo a couple years ago that I think was caused by an illness but if it’s still around or you think yours is positional I ended up going to this one ear doc who was awesome she did this weird almost chiropractic thing which is supposed to get the stones back in where they are supposed to go which is what they think causes positional vertigo. Not sure if that’s the same with regular vertigo. But I wish I had gone to her earlier.
So sorry to hear you have vertigo I have pulsatile type that my ears ring constantly but no cure I take motion sickness medication called meclizine that just decreades the nausea that is asdociated with it it can flair with wet weather or storms!! So no bending over for extended periods of time and ni flashing lughts and decreased vision at night!
