The Ahoy! Mermaids Fabric Collection
My Ahoy! Mermaids fabric collection from Riley Blake Designs is scheduled to be released early in 2021.
The line was inspired by my earlier “Let’s be Mermaids” collection and a recent trip I took to the Northeast Coast of the United States.
Video Introduction
Inspiration for the Line
After the success of the Let’s Be Mermaids collection, I thought it would be fun to do a follow-up collection. I wanted to make sure that the designs and ideas were “new and fresh” with on-trend colors and patterns.
While on a cruise to New England I found the inspiration for the new line. This line incoroporates a few nautical touches into the line such as nautical flags and lobester buoys. Along with a few pirate inspired items.
The Colorways & Prints
The line features 3 colorway aqua, dark green & coral.
The Panels
There are also 2 cheater panel for the line that can be used to make a quilt or cut up and used for a decorative banner or as pieces for other quilt blocks.
Quilt Patterns for the Line
There are three main quilt patterns designed to work with the line.
The first is a brand new pattern called “Seas the Day” and is a quick piece pattern using a 10″ stacker of fabric.
This pattern would be great to kit as the supplies are quite simple. A 10″ stacker and some yardage for binding & sashing.
The second pattern is our Letter Board Quilt. Here shown in the darker greens and blues from this line.
This quilt pattern was released with our 1st mermaid fabric collection and was a big hit! We’re excited to bring it back for the 2nd time.
The third pattern is our Star Bright Quilt.
This quilt pattern is designed to work with the quilt panel from the line. The blocks from the panel fit inside the star blocks on the quilt pattern.
