Christmas Bow Quilt Block Pattern for Festive Friends Quilt Along
This Christmas Gift with Bow Quilt block is the fifth quilt block in our Festive Friends Quilt Along!
Welcome back to the Festive Friends Quilt Along! Today, we have a quilt block pattern for a festive bow quilt block.
This block sits at the center of the quilt and is designed to be the block that ties all the other blocks together.
After this, two more patterns will be shared. One is for the corner blocks (you will make four) and the finishing instructions (including the flying geese border outside the quilt).
What is the Festive Friends Quilt Along?
The Festive Friends Quilt Along is a free quilting event hosted on the Polka Dot Chair. During the month of December, create a fun Christmas quilt with our free Christmas quilt block patterns. Between December 1st and 20th, visit our site to print one of the adorable Christmas quilt blocks (blocks will be posted throughout the month; full schedule below). But don’t delay because, like Cinderella, the patterns will disappear at midnight on December 31st 2024. Now that the quilt along is over the patterns have been moved to our shop. Watch for a NEW QUILT ALONG December 2025!
About the Quilt Block
A Christmas gift inspired the design for this quilt block! It’s meant to be the top view of a Christmas gift topped with a beautifully tied bow.
TIP: you can also change the light green ribbon that runs through the center of the block for white fabric, and you have a pattern for a bow quilt block that can be used any time of the year!
The bow quilt block finishes at 12″ x 12″, just like the other blocks in the quilt.
The two shades of green fabric used in the block give the bow a bit of dimension.
