Introducing the Bows & Monograms Quilt Pattern
Looking for a bow quilt pattern that’s both classic and customizable? The Bows & Monograms Quilt Pattern combines a bow quilt block with mix-and-match seasonal and monogram options. Whether you’re stitching a keepsake baby quilt, a cheerful fall throw, or a festive holiday version, this pattern gives you the flexibility to make it your own.
I’m so excited to introduce you to my newest quilt pattern, the Bows & Monograms quilt. I know I say this about all of my patterns, but I think this one might be a new favorite!
I originally designed the Bows & Monograms Quilt a few years ago, as a baby quilt gift for my niece, who was expecting a baby girl and loves all things feminine. I wanted to make something sweet and classic. Something that would feel personal and timeless.
That’s when I figured out how to add her daughter’s first initial into the quilt design.
After finishing that version, I realized how much fun it would be to customize the quilt for anyone (adding two additional sizes), so I went back and created piecing patterns for the entire alphabet (which is why it has taken me almost two years to write and edit the quilt pattern).
About the Pattern
That little idea for one baby quilt evolved into a complete pattern (with three size options) that you can personalize for every season, from monogrammed baby quilts to fall pumpkins and festive Christmas trees.
You can use this pattern to make a sweet Halloween quilt (just change the border fabric to something spooky).
Skill Level: Confident Beginner
This quilt pattern is great for beginning quilters. If you can make a half-square triangle and sew rows of squares together, you should be able to tackle this pattern.
Five Quilt Pattern Options
One of my favorite things about this design is its versatility. You can customize it with your choice of letter to create a monogrammed quilt, or swap the letter for a pumpkin or Christmas tree block.
The pattern comes with five variations in three finished sizes, so you can choose the layout that best fits your project:
- Option 1: Baby – 46” x 46”
- Option 2: Large Throw – 59” x 59”
- Option 3: Large Throw with Christmas Tree – 59” x 59”
- Option 4: Large Throw with Pumpkin – 59” x 59”
- Option 5: Lap Size – 56” x 70”
You’ll also find piecing instructions for every letter in the alphabet, so you can add any letter you like to your quilt.

New Quilt Kit
Y’all know I love Halloween, but I also know it’s not everyone’s favorite. I always find that time between Halloween and Thanksgiving a little tricky when it comes to decorating. It feels too early to bring out all of the Christmas lights and decor.
