It’s easy to overlook the simple joys of connection and community in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. Yet, sometimes, a small gesture can make a big difference to someone.
If you’re looking for ways to “brighten” someone’s day, I have a fun gift idea to share with you. It’s this candle, “May your days be merry and bright” gift idea!
I’m always looking for simple gifts to give to our friends, neighbors, and teachers during the holiday season. I used to spend most of December baking gifts, but I decided it was too much work and switched to simple gifts I could buy.
I’m always looking for elegant everyday items that I can “fancy” up with a sweet note or gift tag.
With this in mind, I created a set of candle gifts with a tag attached that says, “May your days be merry and bright.”
How to Make the Gift
For this gift you’ll need:
- Candle (mine were purchased at Target; I’ve also used candle gift sets from Williams Sonoma)
- Ribbon (box gift tied with velvet ribbon)
- Printable Tag (fill out the form on this page, and we will send you the free printable tag).
- Scissors or Paper Trimmer (to cut out tags)
- Hole Punch
- Cardstock

How to Get the Printable Tag
Fill out the form on this page, and we will email you a copy of the printable tag.
Step One: Download the Tag
Download the printable gift tag and print it out. I like to use cardstock for this step since it’s thicker and will hold up better.
Step Two: Attach to Candle
Use the ribbon to tie the gift tag to your candle. If your candle doesn’t have a “hook” or something to tie a ribbon to, tie the ribbon in a bow, then tape both the ribbon and the gift tag to the candle.
That’s it! So simple.
