A few travel scrapbook pages

Last Spring I spent a wonderful few days in the Netherlands.  I’m just now starting to go through the photos and get them properly scrapbooked.

Lifestyle Crafts has introduced a new product called Shape N Tape. It’s essentially washi tape by the sheet. They contacted me asking if they could send me some to play with, and review. I of course said YES!

I chose to work with the orange sheets of tape.  The national color of the Netherlands is Orange, so I decided that would be a great color story to carry through all of my pages.

Lifestyle also sent me a few dies to play with. One of them was the arrow border die.  I thought that since I was using the project life system to scrapook my trip, it might be fun to do a little ‘peek a boo’ between two of the pages using the arrow die cut.

I started with 2 6″x12″ sheets of card stock. I then cut them BOTH at the same time using the arrow die.

Afterwards I cut a strip of the Shape N tape and covered the back of one of the arrow borders.

It then put the other 6″x12″ sheet over the top.

It ended up making a fun peek a boo that would show through on both sides of the page.

I also used the shape and tape and covered one of my journaling cards entirely, I like how the tape is partially translucent. I thought it gave it a fun texture.

Here are a few more shots of the pages I created:

After playing around with the Shape and Tape sheets for a few days I can say that I love this stuff!!  Having the tape by the sheet opens up some many more possibilities when it comes to creating.

  • So many potholders! I launched a new pattern today just in time for Christmas. The new #PotholderParade pattern includes patterns for 4 different styles of potholders (swipe to see them all) and a matching dish towel. They are all easy to stich so you DO have time to make a set for holiday gifts. (Well, if you want to 😉) The pattern is 20% off with code POTHOLDER20. You can find a link in my bio. I’ll also add a swipe up to stores. Whew! (p.s. if you know me and get a potholder for Christmas act surprised 😂) .

  • One of my favorite handmade gifts to make for kids is a reading pillow! I made my first one almost 10 years ago out of polar fleece and gifted it to my nephews for Christmas stuffed with books and a flashlight! 10 years later it’s now one of my most popular patterns! You can grab it in the shop in PDF or Paper format. The pattern comes with 2 pillow sizes as well! Have you made a #readingpillow ? Who did you gift it to? Pattern link in bio. .

  • I am so excited to have a project featured in Quilts and More Magazine! ✂️ When I first started quilting it was always my favorite Magazine to pick up at the store. I can’t believe I have a project in it now. This little pin cushion caddy is super quick to make and would make a great gift for someone who loves sewing and quilting. The issue is in newsstands now. .

  • Looks like a nice size for a baby quilt right? Well it’s NOT SUPPOSED to be a baby quilt. It’s supposed to be the center block for our #justforfunquilt and it’s TWO TIMES TOO BIG! 🤦🏼‍♀️. Don’t know what happed to my brain this week. More explanation on stories. Oh- and don’t worry. The right block will be up on the blog tomorrow as planned. Also- next year for Halloween I’m going as a quilt with legs 😂.

  • I guess it’s time to transition the IG feed from orange to red 😉. Let’s talk Christmas crafting! 🎅🏼 🌲. I’m working with @officialcricut this holiday season to bring you loads of fun personalized gift ideas. First up this “believe” wood Christmas sign with 3D wood cut out. It was my first time to cut wood with my Cricut Maker and I’m so excited that it actually worked! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 It took a bit of trial and error but it worked! On the blog I’ve outlined how I did it , along with a few tips if you try it yourself. Just use the link in my bio then go to the home page. #cricutmade #cricutmaker #christmascrafts #handmadechristmas #handmadechristmasdecorations
