Sparkler Fabrics: New Colors and Prints Perfect for Quilts and Small Projects
If you love versatile fabric basics with a bit of personality, youโre going to be excited about the newest additions to the Sparkler fabric collection with Riley Blake Designs. This updated release builds on the original Sparkler line with fresh colors and a few new prints that are perfect for seasonal quilt projects!

One of the things that has always made Sparkler fabrics so useful is their ability to act as a โnot-so-basic basic.โ They read like a solid from a distance but offer subtle texture and detail up close.

With the introduction of new motifs (stars, hearts, and snowflakes!) and expanded color options, this collection opens up even more possibilities for quilts, small sewing projects, and seasonal projects.
About the Sparkler Fabric Collection
The Sparkler collection has become a go-to for quilters who want a little more interest than a traditional solid. Each print features a small, repeating + design that adds depth without overwhelming your project.

(Blocks from Festive Friends Quilt Pattern)
In this updated release, some of the classic โplusโ motifs have been reimagined with charming seasonal variations. Youโll now find prints that feature:

Stars for patriotic or Halloween projects.

Hearts for Valentineโs Day and other holiday projects.

Snowflakes for winter and holiday quilts!
New Colors in the Sparkler Line
Alongside the new motifs, this release introduces an expanded color palette that coordinates seamlessly with the existing Sparkler range.

The new colors are:
- Designed to mix effortlessly with previous Sparkler prints
- Balanced for both modern and traditional quilts

Whether you prefer soft, muted tones or brighter, more saturated shades, the updated color range offers greater flexibility when planning your quilts.

These additions make it easier to create depth, contrast, and movement in your designs without needing to pull from multiple fabric lines.

The new colors also coordinate with my existing and upcoming designer fabric collections with Riley Blake designs. Including the upcoming Claus & Co. collection!
Project Ideas for Sparkler Fabrics
One of the best things about Sparkler fabrics is how adaptable they are. Because they function as textured solids, they can be used in a wide variety of quilting and sewing projects.

Quilt Patterns
Society Sparkler Quilt Pattern
Some of you may remember my Society Sparkler quilt. The original design featured two shades of pink (Rose and Ballerina) and Green (Clover) sashing.

I’ve mocked up a few options of this pattern using some of the new Sparkler colors!

You can buy the Society Sparkler quilt pattern in our shop; we have both PDF and printed copies available.
The Arctic Sparkler Quilt
Another quilt pattern that works partially well with Sparkler is my Arctic Sparkler pattern. Here it is shown sewn with Denim and Red.

It also looks great sewn with blue and white fabrics (both the Coastal Blue & Periwinkle would be beautiful) or Christmas Green & Red.

You can buy the Arctic Sparkler quilt pattern in our shop; we have both PDF and printed copies available.
Sparkler Swirl Quilt
Adding a few extra blues to the Sparkler line made it easy to recolor our Sparkler Swirl quilt to include a patriotic option perfect for the 4th of July.

The original pattern was sewn with pinks and greens and was perfect for Christmas!

Small Sewing Projects

- Zipper pouches and cosmetic bags (check out our Color Blocked Zip Pouch Tutorial)
- Tote bags and travel organizers
- Fabric baskets and home storage
Seasonal Decor

- Holiday pillows (pillows shown above from our Summer Sparkler Pillow Pattern)
- Table runners and placemats
- Wall hangings for Valentineโs Day, winter, or patriotic themes
Because the prints are small-scale, they work especially well in projects with lots of seams and smaller pieces, where larger prints might get lost.
Where to Buy Sparkler Fabrics
If you are a shop carrying some of the new fabrics, let me know, and I’ll add you to this list!
Ask for the fabrics at your local quilt shop. You can also buy them from many Etsy sellers. They will also be popping up this year in some of our shops quilt kits!

I LOVE Sparkler fabrics, my stash is stocked with them! These new additions to the line are fabulous. I look forward to using them. The heartsโฆ Swoon!
