Meet the Peppermint Sparkler Christmas Quilt Pattern!
Meet my newest quilt pattern, the Peppermint Sparkler quilt! It’s fun to piece red, white, pink, and green Christmas quilt pattern that can also be made in red, white, and blue to celebrate the summer holidays!
The holiday season is upon us, and what better way to infuse your home with warmth and festive cheer than with a brand-new quilt pattern?
I’m thrilled to introduce the Peppermint Sparkler, a delightful design that not only captures the magic of Christmas but also can be made in Red, White, and Blues to celebrate Independence Day. The pinwheel quilt blocks featured in the pattern remind me of candy canes or peppermint candies!
I’ve been working on this holiday quilt pattern for the last six months and hoped to have it released mid November. I had a few hiccups along the way and missed the initial self-imposed deadline (don’t you love self-imposed deadlines? I think sometimes they stress me out more than deadlines that other people give me!)
I am excited that the quilt pattern is now ready for release. I realize it’s a bit late for this Christmas, but to make it up to you, I’m offering the pattern at almost half off until Christmas Day!
How to Buy the Pattern
You can find the pattern now in our shop; I’ve also included a purchase link.
The pattern is available only in PDF format right now but will be printed next year to allow quilt shops to carry it.
Personally, I make a Christmas quilt every December. To me, sewing with Christmas fabrics in December really helps me to get in the holiday mood! In fact, I’m in the process of finishing a Christmas quilt I started last year.
So, if you’re inclined to do a bit of last-minute Christmas quilting, I hope that you’ll enjoy this pattern (or save it to start next year).
Colorways for Christmas and Independence Day
One of the interesting features of the Peppermint Sparkler quilt pattern is its versatility. While it’s the perfect addition to your Christmas decor with its classic red, pink, and green color scheme, the pattern effortlessly transforms into a patriotic quilt when sewin in red, white, and blue.
The pattern is written for the Christmas version, but I included a color swap chart in the pattern so you know how to make it in Red, White, and Blue as well. It’s a straight swap color for color.
Materials and Supplies
The quilt is made entirely from fabrics from my Sparkler line with Riley Blake designs. The colors I used are:
- 1 1/4 Yards Redwood Sparkler
- 3/4 Yard White Sparkler
- 1 Yard Raspberry Sparkler
- 1 Yard Baby Pink Sparkler
- 1/2 Yard Rose Sparkler
- 1 Yard Clover Sparkler
- 1 Yard Riley Green Sparkler
- 1/2 Yard Celery Sparkler
- Binding: 1/2 Yard
- Backing: 5 Yards
Those fabrics are also available in solid colors in the exact same shades so that you can make it from Confetti Cotton solids as well. I do love the extra “sparkle” that the gold on the Sparkler fabrics gives the quilt!
Quilt Size
The quilt measures 50″ x 74″. It is all traditionally pieced.
Where to Buy Sparkler Fabrics
I have heard from many of you who are looking for Sparkler fabrics; ASK for them at your local quilt shop! I know it’s frustrating when you feel like you can’t find what you’re looking for; the best thing you can do to help them be more readily available is just to request them where you shop!
Stash Fabrics has all colors in stock except the Red
Fat Quarter Shop has the Redwood in stock
Pink Door Fabrics has a selection in stock
Many Etsy sellers the collection as well.
(if you are a shop with the fabric in stock, message me, and I’ll add you to the list)
