As the Mom of twins, I have spent many hours planning Elementary School parties. When my kids were young I always enjoyed the challenge of coming up with crafts and favors for the parties. I tried to think of treats that would not be too complicated to make or too expensive.
Our school as a no food policy for school parties which can make it a challenge to plan crafts and activities for some parties, especially Halloween.
I must tell you that Halloween is one of my very favorite Holidays. I love to sit on my porch, pass out candy, and watch the parade of children come by in their creative and colorful costumes.
Non-Candy Halloween Treat Idea
As much as I love Halloween, I don’t really love the candy rush that comes with it. To be honest the massive amount of candy floating around the house after Halloween stresses me out a bit. I love a good chocolate bar as much as anyone else. However, I never know what to do with all of the candy and it makes me feel wasteful to just throw it out.
My husband is a dentist. One of the first years that he was out of school and in practice we thought that it would be a cute idea to pass out toothbrushes instead of candy at our home for Halloween. It seemed like a great idea until one kid started hysterically crying when we gave him the toothbrush. After that, we went back to candy.
Non Candy Halloween Treats
A few years ago I got the idea to pass out Vampire Teeth at my husband’s office for Halloween. They turned out to be a big hit! To make them a bit more special, I attached a simple tag with twine and put them in a basket by the front desk at the office.
I’ve designed a new printable for the vampire teeth. You can now download a copy yourself to make your own non-candy Halloween treats and party favors!
To make them. Simply print out the image. I recommend using luster photo paper for a good quality print. After they are printed, cut out along the dashed lines. Punch a small hole in the corner of the tag and tie to the vampire’s teeth.
