20+ Mini Quilt Patterns You Can Make in a Weekend

Updated: Apr 2, 2022 by Melissa Mortenson · This post may contain affiliate links · This blog generates income via ads · 4 Comments

I love to quilt but sometimes am not in the mood to tackle a big project.  I think that’s why I love Mini Quilts so much! It’s all of the fun of quilting in a smaller (and faster size). If you love making mini quilts or want to venture into the hobby, then you might like some of these Mini Quilt Patterns & Tutorials.

I remember the first quilt I made. I was in high school. It was a unit in our sewing class (remember when they had those in school?) and we were tasked with creating a traditional star quilt.

I spent so much time stitching up that quilt and still love it even today (complete with its forest green and peach color scheme, any guesses what “era” that was? *wink*). I’ve made many more quilts in the years since I’ve loved each one. I love the process of making a quilt, from the design to the binding.

At times though I find myself pressed for time and want a quick fix.  I’ve started creating mini quilts as a way to enjoy quilting on a smaller scale. Mini quilts can be in a variety of sizes and are used for so many things from baby doll quilts to table toppers.

Most of the quilt patterns I’ve found for you today are free, some of them are paid patterns. Personally, I don’t mind buying a quilt pattern, since it helps to support another Maker’s business! Enjoy.

Thanks Melissa, for putting all these wonderful mini-quilt ideas together in one place! As a lifelong sewer myself, with the best dressed Barbie on the block, I’ve never ventured into mini quilts. There are so many wonderful options here that I want to make right away. The hard part will be deciding which will be first.
      Thanks again,
      Lea
