The Stripey Sails & Stars Quilt Pattern
I’m excited to introduce you to my newest quilt pattern, Stripey Sails & Stars. It’s a unique Sailboat and Star quilt pattern that can be created with Fat Quarters!
Last summer, I, along with several of my friends, hosted the Summer Block Party Sew Along. Each of us shared a unique summer-themed quilt block, and all of those blocks became a really cute quilt!
My block for the Summer Block Party was called Stripey Sails and featured a fun sailboat quilt block with stripes on the sails.
One of the unique things about the Stripey Sails block is that you can create two sailboat quilt blocks simultaneously due to how the sailboat blocks are pieced. This piecing trick allows you to construct the quilt quickly!
Many of you asked for a full quilt pattern based on this block; it didn’t take long before I felt like I had a great idea for a quilt, and the Stripey Sails & Stars quilt pattern was born!

My husband and I took a road trip to Maine at the end of the summer, and I decided the 18-hour drive from Kentucky to Maine would be the perfect time to bind the quilt!
I mean, is it even a road trip if you don’t take a quilt with you to bind?
Since the quilt was finished, I could not pass up the opportunity to photograph it with the gorgeous Maine coast in the background.
This might be one of my favorite quilts now!
I backed the quilt with a vintage sheet and used Quilters Dream Cotton as the batting, which made for a light and breezy quilt perfect for summer evenings!
If you buy the pattern and make the quilt, make sure you let me know how it goes!
